A company that has been using a generic name to sell its wares online has seen continued success in their operations, it said.
Connecticut-based Church Hill Classics, which sells diploma frames, has been using the address Diplomaframe.com, as well as variation Diplomaframes.com, to attract its client base and divert internet traffic, Domain Name Wire reported.
The site's president Lucie Voves obtained the domains 11 years ago, she told the site.
"Since the Church Hill Classics company name was not descriptive of our emerging product line, we felt that developing the diplomaframe.com site was a valuable marketing opportunity," Ms Voves explained.
As a result, the two domains receive type-in traffic and give the firm name recognition.
Church Hill Classics currently runs a scholarship contest from FrameMyFuture.com.
A firm in a similar sector, running from Scanmyphotos.com, recently bought wallstreetscanning.com in a bid to comment upon the recent bank bailout in the US.
